September 30, 2010 Art from the Aartvark

A long, long... really long... time ago... in the early 1980s...

"Cerebus the Aardvark" was a trailblazer indie comic...
John Byrne was doing is incredible run on X-Men...
I was a lowly graduate student...
ATT broke up...
the Vietnam memorial was being built in DC...
cable TV was booming...
we had a war in the Falklands...
the first emoticons were posted :) ...
Jefferson Starship, Pat Benatar, Adam Ant, Culture Club, and
Michael Jackson's "Thriller"...

And the "Friends of Cerebus Newsletter" was carrying semi-regular fan art submissions from yours truly.

A number of the submissions never saw the light of day... until now.

Thanks to CerebusFanGirl and the revival of the Newletter, (#18 - go check out Margaret's site for ordering information) the newly shipped issue contains 4 of the never-before-seen submissions from my 20-something year old self.
