More to the point, though, is that there is rather little to talk about in the Cerebus Original Art business any more. The ramifications of that little statement could be like Desmond Hume pulling the plug from the heart of the island: I might let the light go out. We'll see.

I greatly enjoy your updates and comments on original David Sim art (especially updates on Cerebus art). As a small-time collector, it is fun to see how the market is doing: what's for sale, how much pieces go for, etc. So, if you want my two-cents (about all I can afford right now!), please keep doing what you're doing!
(BTW, my prize piece is the first page of "His First Fifth" from Epic Illustrated. I believe it is Gerhard's first Cerebus page. You sure don't see color pages pop up often, do you?)
Hi John. Thanks.
If you ever want to trade that page for greenbacks, you just let me know! I've got p 2, 3, and 9 from that story, and I was never aware that any of those other Epic pages were ever sold... until now. I know that Dave still has some, and those were not addressed in the divvy-up-the-pages settlement with Ger.
I bought the page in August, 1994 at a comic shop in Seattle. (It was a place down in the flea market shops near Pike Place.) I'll never forget seeing it hanging on the wall. It was priced at $300! I live in Dallas, but I walked up to the shop owner and said, "I want that page and I want it shipped. Whatever the cost."
They built a custom shipping box for me. That cost about $125. Then they shipped it with insurance. I can't remember the total, but I essentially got the page for less than $500. I knew I still had a great deal! The shop owner had bought the page from a customer whom he thought got it from Dave at a signing. Still, I'm not sure of the provenance. Any ideas on how this page made it out to the public? Also, I'm not real savvy to the Dave/Gerhard "break-up, divvy up" story. Care to enlighten me (privately, of course)?
Woah. Great story. I actually forget how I got mine.
Are either of the email addresses at the Win-Mill contact page useful for taking this off-line?
Actually, the email addresses at the Win Mill site are for Craig. Just click on my name right above this post(if you have the link) and you can find my email address, or go to my blog, www.abovethestore.blogspot.com to find it there.
