July 5 2007 Comic News

Hi Lofrat. That was a cute misunderstanding you had about yesterday's post, I'm guessing. When I said "Kudos to ME..." I was not emphasizing the word "me," I was giving the set of initials of another collector whose identity, while pretty easy to determine from the information that is out there, I was being politely discreet about. That is all of his recently acquired booty, not mine.

... ... ...

In case you follow things like this, there are 2 days left on eBay 280129085482, a CGC slabbed 8.5 copy of issue #1, which is current at $800. The same seller (knvbi_records) has high-grade copies of issues #2-6, 8, 11, 12, & 13 (all of which are still, I think, reasonably priced). The seller also says he has "other Cerebus items" coming up in the near future.

I'm sad seeing that lovely comic all wrapped in it's plastic coffin. :(

Perhaps I should buy it just to set it free?

I sense a great t-shirt and blog campaign!

Comics that are freed, er, resurrected from their slabs ought to be called "Zombies" (bwah hah hah).

"Free the Zombies! Read the Zombies!"

"A happy Zombie is a read Zombie!"

"An unread Zombie is a terrible thing to waste."

ME really put togheter an impressive collection anyhow... by the way, this misunderstanding is very funny! I believe that the real life melmoth, if not dead, would have been able to build a couple of really funny stage acts around these initials.

totally agreed... when I put two and two together and figured out why you might have thought they were mine, I really giggled up a storm
