When the book ended, Tim wanted one page for the wall. He got in touch with Gerhard and got the usual low-down on what it is like to extract pages from the archive/vault, which as we know is not so easy.
Tim got back in touch with Ger about this earlier this year and, what with The Separation and all that, the odds of a buy from out of the vault were even lower.
Inspired, however, Tim commissioned a piece from Ger. And here is it, folks... my random guess is that this was perhaps the next thing done after the background to the Giant Con Sketch. I could be wrong. But it's all Ger.
And Tim had the same reaction to seeing original art as most of us have had, who had only seen the work printed as comic book size on Charmin-quality papier-de-toilette: "Looking at it makes me think we all missed a lot of fine line work over the years!"
Amen to that, Brother Tim.
Enjoy, y'all.
(I'm in Beijing for most of the month, so things might get sporadic again with posts.)

So what do you lot think of what I now have hanging on my wall? :)
Wowo.
That is disturbingly good.
Hot damn...
I'm glad you like it j_ay. Gerhard said to me on email that he is really enjoying drawing without a timetable. I think the results speak for themselves?
