August 15 2006 The REAL Gerhard Treatment

So, did you ever think to do a whois.net search on cerebusart.com to see whose name the domain is registered in (figuring that the DeViouS 50% of Aardvark-Vanaheim was not the one to do it)?

At least the (true) mystery of Ger's name is solved, once and for all.

Bwah hah hah.

1)that is absolutely bloody hysterical.

2) but the whole thing, after typing in my site, knowing my address is available to *anyone* that types that in, is annoying as all hell.

It might not translate as well in Zurich, but to be clear: this is a great big "haha" from Ger... he knew that people would be looking and used the most appropriate name he could think of: only a schmuck would be foolhardy enough to make it this easy for us, and he's being a real schmuck by having thought of it.

Sorry if my tongue was not embedded deeply enough in my cheek!

"unaccountable" - those privacy issues are why I have the CFG site set to a "private" domain. For an extra couple of bucks a year, my domain / web host acts as a proxy for me.

No, no, I got the joke. While my sense of humour may often be questioned (admittedly my funny bone holds little-to-no marrow), I _did_ think this was funny as hell.
When something is funny it holds no geographic bounds.
But yes, indeed in German schmuck means (noun) jewelry (adj) neat, pretty, smart.

Margaret, thanks for the private thing, I’ll have to head over to Dreamhost and find out about that. Gerhard did his homework knowing such things would pop up on the net, I would have just thought ‘contact’ information would have been left at email.
Although I have no real reason to be paranoid, I just have a bit of a Pynchon complex. No doubt in due time, if not already, one can tell what colour underwear I’m wearing just by logging my email address into some sort of engine...

I found it cheaper to get a PO Box than pay for the privacy thing.
