Do you know how Kevin got ahold of this gem Brian? I don't see too many Cerebus covers up for sale / auction, let alone Cerebus cover prelims. And a prelim that is in full color? Wow. Nice.
I do not recall the story. However, he did end up with not only this cover prelim, but also 2 pages of the "notebooks" from issue #19 (I have those posted at my site under 'drawings' as 'issue 19 notebook' & 'notebook2.' I think Dave used to give this stuff to people as a 'thank you' when they interviewed him, gave other publicity, etc.
Just like he used to give away the prelims done on tracing paper. Those "notebook" pages are very cool to see - as Dave's first notebook starts with issue #20 those are some pre-notebook "notebook" pages. It would also explain the cover prelim - as I've seen many cover prelims in the notebook pages - that prelim must also been a "notebook" page.
Hey Brian, for the life of me I don't remember selling this one. Are you sure it was me? I suppose it was possible I could have, it just doesn't look familiar to me.
